I didn’t grow up celebrating Halloween but of course was familiar with the practise of “trick or treat” from watching TV shows and movies. The tradition of celebrating Hallows eve or All Saints eve dates back to a couple of centuries to remember the departed and later with one’s scary disguise one hopes to get lots of treats.
Today people like it for it gives the excuse to have a fancy dress party and kids get to collect tons of candy. I love autumn and pumpkin everything ( expect pumpkin spice, too much cinnamon ), so I got inspired to serve a Halloween theme cheese board.
I used a round wooden board/plate and I used grapes for the eyes, nose and mouth but you can use black olives as well.
My layers are all “orange coloured”: mandarin wedges, cheddar cheese slices, cheese crackers, dried apricots and paprika peanuts. Simple yet very festive.
ENJOY the weekend, my lovelies!
