Our busy lifestyle sometimes challenge us when it comes to cooking a quick but delicious meal. I love planning ahead but it’s not always possible. A sheet tray meal is the quickest and easiest way to put food on the table. Cleanup is significantly minimal as well, just cook and serve on the same tray. All you need is one sheet tray!
Who likes doing the clean up and dishes after a great meal? Nobody, yeah, that’s right. And our time is precious, I rather have quality time, I imagine you as well. So try this technique of using a baking sheet tray. I guarantee you need less than 20 minutes to prep and cook, and maximum 5 minutes to clean up.
BASIC PRINCIPLES – you need a baking sheet tray and your ingredients.
Line the sheet tray with baking paper.
Cook the vegetables evenly by cutting the larger and harder vegetables in smaller pieces, the softer ones cook faster so leave in large pieces.
Size your pieces of poultry, fish or meat right so it will cook at the same time as your vegetables, you might want to slice them in half or dice them.
HOW TO – this is a clean up and time saving technique, and pretty fail proof too.
Pick a fish, poultry, shrimp or meat – or go veggie with some lovely feta cheese or totally vegan
Add 2 to 3 vegetables,
A drizzle of olive oil ,
Season with salt and pepper,
Add an aromatic herb such as rosemary, thyme, dill or basil or spice it up with turmeric or chili.
Cook for 15 to 20 minutes on 180C degrees in a pre-heated oven.
